My feeling is that tools such as Droone or Travis are great because you have your project build pipeline with your project source code. Which renders the following benefits:
- You get everything in one place: build pipeline and code
- Developers own the pipeline
- The pipeline gets versioned
As a devops or maybe a sys admin giving support to the dev team, it doesn't seem out of scope, for such a role, to go find errors across different components when a build fails.
As a developer, working under the premise that I own the build life cycle, I would expect all build errors to be reported in one place, at best, were the build owns. And I think it belongs to the CI server.
In any case, good job!
